Graduate Chabad℠ seeks Executive Director to lead all educational and outreach activities on university campuses and online.

This is a unique shlichus opportunity for an academically-inclined individual, who is equally at home in the world of Torah and in academia. Our Executive Director will play a key leadership role in this organization, leading all educational and outreach activities on university campuses and online. Our Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Graduate Chabad℠’s staff, programs, expansion and execution of its mission. This position reports directly to the Chairman and the Board of Directors.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized and motivated person with a dedication to the Rebbe’s shlichus and an entrepreneurial spirit. The successful candidate is expected to have smicha and an advanced secular education. Experience in working in/with university administration is highly desired. A graduate degree from an Ivy League university is strongly preferred.
General Responsibilities

The Executive Director of Graduate Chabad℠ will oversee the administration, budget, marketing and programming for the organization, as well as fundraising, strategic development and community outreach. Other key duties include:

  • Working with the Chairman and the Board of Directors in order to fulfill the organization mission.

  • Responsible for leading Graduate Chabad℠ in a manner that supports and is guided by the mission as defined by the Board of Directors.

  • Ensuring programmatic excellence; overseeing program development, successful execution and rigorous ongoing evaluation.

  • Engaging graduate school leadership: connecting and communicating with shluchim, administrators, department chairs and faculty on individual university campuses.

  • Actively engaging and energizing Graduate Chabad℠ volunteers, event committees, students, faculty, alumni and partnering organizations.

  • Fiscal management that anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization and maintains the organization in a positive financial position.

  • Fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support Graduate Chabad℠’s mission.

  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that Graduate Chabad℠ can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.

  • Responsible for enhancing Graduate Chabad℠’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.

  • Responsible for hiring and retaining competent, qualified staff.

Professional Qualifications:

  • All candidates should have proven leadership, academic, administrative and relationship management experience.

  • Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

    • A graduate degree (preferably from an Ivy League university).

    • Strong traditional Jewish education with the emphasis on Jewish thought; smicha.

    • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.

    • Deep understanding of marketing, public relations, online and social media marketing.

    • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

    • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers.

    • Superb written and oral communication and public speaking skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.

    • Passion, idealism and integrity, a positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.

Annual salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
